|"2013 Was The Practice. |
2014 Was the Warm Up. 2015 is Game Time"
Happy 2015! Believe it or not, it was quite easy to narrow down my 2014 favorites of makeup and fashion. I guess you could say I was pretty consistent throughout the year.
I purchased the urban decay naked 3 palette for my prom and I’m so happy I decided to splurge. It’s my first official “high-end” makeup purchase. I started off really only using the dark rosy-browns. Then I transitioned into using the grey and dark black/purple in my outer corner for dramatic, smokey looks, specifically in conjunction with covergirl’s smoke alarm trio. It’s the perfect glam makeup look. And towards the end of the year, I loved using the neutral, light pinks and the light gold for a more natural look. 2014 was definitely the year for thick, black winged eyeliner. I have finally mastered it (at least I think so) thanks to Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner. I can’t seem to go a day without eyeliner on my upper lash line. To give me full lashes, I keep going back to covergirl clump crusher mascara. It never seems to fail me.
For my face makeup, I always reached for Covergirl’s 3-in-1 Foundation since the coverage is amazing. And it doesn’t hurt that it lasts a decent amount of time. I was, and still am, really into contouring my cheekbones, temples, and nose with NYC Sunny Bronzer. It makes the world of a difference! Not only does it warm up your complexion, but it really makes your facial features stand out. And to top it off, I placed Maybelline’s Master Hi-light Blushes. They’re shimmery and give the most healthy glow.
I’d say my fashion style has been all over the place this year. At the beginning year, I was really into preppy dress clothes, especially blazers. You could bet just about every day I was either in a skirt or a dress. And I could not get enough of my three stranded pearl necklace and pearl stud earrings. They just went with everything! And for the winter I paired the majority of my dresses/skirts with tights and my ankle booties from Target. Rarely did I wear my black patent leather riding boots.
Then my style transitioned into more casual clothes. I absolutely loved wearing white Converse (which need to be washed) with everything: skirts, jeans, dresses etc. They were just so comfortable! And I started wearing more jeans in addition to crop tops!
And this has been the year I’ve been ADDICTED to wearing watches! The beginning of the year I pretty much more my rose gold one everyday. Then I began purchased a chevron one with black leather straps from Charming Charlie’s and then’s when the addiction began….
Television ShowsMy first favorite tv show this past year was 24. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was for the tv show to FINALLY make a renewal. If you know me at all, my family and I watch reruns of the seasons practically EVERY night. It never gets old. (and they better make a new season this year). SPOILER ALERT…...My favorite episode was the last one. In my opinion it is one of the best episodes of the entire series. Chen is finally dead, but it was extremely heart wrenching when Audrey died :(
My second favorite tv show was the Bachelor in Paradise.
The Bachelor/Bachelorette is my guilty pleasure. So the fact that ABC did a spin off of the show was ah-may-zing. Marcus and Lacey are the cutest thing!
Every month I pretty much always have new song favorites, however when you ask me to name one off the top of my head...my mind immediately goes to “Say Something” by The Great Big World ft Christina Aguilera. It’s one of the most beautiful and powerful songs EVER. (even my niece loves to sing along to it)
Second place goes to “Love and Affection” by Matt White. I heard it for the first time on last year’s season of the Bachelorette and IMMEDIATELY fell in love with it. It’s such a cute song and I always think of Desiree and Chris when I hear it.
And a song that is super sad but has been on repeat is “Home” by Michael Buble. His music is sooo classic!
Another one of my favorites is “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. Words cannot describe it….I just love it and cannot get enough,
Finally, this year I discovered Ben Rector’s music thanks to Rachhloves. His music puts you in the best mood and just makes you want to find your soulmate. If I had to pick my favorite song of his, it would be a tie between “Disarm” and “White Dress”
One thing you should know about me it that I love to spend my free time watching makeup tutorials and fashion hauls from my favorite youtube-ers. This year though, my two favorite are Tess Christine and Carrie Rad. They both do an incredible job at creating fashion lookbooks. I always look forward to watching them. Plus they have such a sweet, genuine personality.
