"You Don't Cross My Mind; You Live In It"
EEEK! I'm so incredibly excited to be offered an internship with one of my favorite companies. This fall I will be going to school in the NYC area as well as interning. I still can't believe it's actually true.  It's going to be very different than attending university in the Midwest. The upbeat and fast pace environment is going to take some time adjusting to. And I definetly will need to improve my navigation skills. But I know that soon it will come like second nature. And I'm for sure excited about taking some awesome pictures for future blog posts! You will for sure be seeing lots of pictures with skylines.

On the flip side, even though I know it's a tremendous opportunity, there's apart of me that doesn't want to go. I've made some awesome friends at my university and it breaks my heart to not see them this semester. I'm afraid that they'll forget about me and build stronger bonds with other people. I don't think I could handle that...especially one person in particular. To be honest, when I was in the process of receiving an answer regarding the position, I thought about canceling the whole process. The thought of not being around these people and continuing to build these relationships is hard to wrap my brain around.  It's going to be  completely different returning second semester. Everyone will already be adjusted to the new school year with their routines and group of friends...and then there will be me....starting a new semester with no routine set, and probably feeling awkward because I haven't seen these people in over half of a year.  On top of that, I'm scared to live in a foreign environment where I know no one...but life's all about adventures, right?

  1. Congratulations! I was TERRIFIED when I first moved to NYC, but you'll be amazed at how quickly you adjust. Chances are, this is going to be one of the best experiences of your life! And when you get back to school, the people who are supposed to be in your life will still be there :) Good luck, and have fun! If you need any NYC recommendations/advice, I'd be happy to help!

    1. This has to be one of the sweetest comments I've received! You're completely right about the people that are supposed to be in my life will still be there. That's just the thing that I needed to hear! And if you have any restaurant recommendations, I would love to hear them! Thanks so much!

  2. Aw, I'm so glad! As for restaurant recommendations, I don't even know where to start haha. You can check out my blog (sarahintheglasses.blogspot.com) for some of my favorite brunches. Some of my other favorites include The Crooked Tree (crepes), Alice's Tea Cup (tea, scones, lunch) and Penelope (breakfast, sandwiches, salads). I think you've inspired me to write a post about some of my favorite places!
