A Lookback At 2015

Saturday, January 02, 2016

I  have so much to say in this post, so I'm sorry if it is all scattered. I wanted to share with you all my favorite outfits and memories from this year, a follow up on my resolutions from this year, as well as make a resolution for 2016. Anyways, I absolutely adore this black velvet dress. I think it's sexy with the back cutout, and the sparkles make the dress super fun! But what I really love about this picture is the leaves. All the colors are so vibrant; which is what I truly love about fall!

I can't get over how chic this gold glitter skirt is paired with all black! I think it makes an awesome statement, and would be perfect for a New Year's look. I wore this exact outfit to a career conference and got several compliments.

In the fall, my boyfriend invited me to a wedding as well as to meet his family. I can honestly say it was one of the most fun weekends. I loved seeing the goofy side of him while he was dancing, as
well as seeing him interact with his family.

This past weekend, we went to a log cabin...a new post coming soon!

Black and white coats are so chic in my opinion. I love being bundled in layers of scarves, legwarmers, and boots. This coat goes awesome with not only jeans but also dresses.

Over the summer, my family took a vacation to Florida. I had a blast posing while my mom took photos on the beach. I bought these skort specifically for the vacation. The print is perfect for summer, and I love pairing them with converse for a more laid back look.

First off, I made the dramatic change from super long hair to a short bob. I've wanted to do this for years, and I finally had the courage to do so. Second, I ombred my hair and I couldn't be more happy. It adds some much more dimension and color to my face. It may not be everyone's cup of tea...but oh well. I can't wait to get it re-done.

My most exciting trip though was to New York City. This was my second time visiting; however this one was more in depth as far as sight seeing goes. I had the pleasure to go on a ferry a see the Statue of Liberty. The main reason for my visit though was for an interview for an internship with Kleinfeld Bridal. If you have followed my blog since the summer, you would know that I was offered the position, but decided for multiple reasons to turn it down. It has been a dream of mine to work there, so as you can imagine it was one of the hardest decisions of my life. However,  I am sure I made the right decision because I am content with my life as of this very second!

I thought 2014 was one of the best years because of new beginnings such as graduating high school; however, 2015 has topped that year! It started off with me in my second semester of college and living with  a new roommate, with whom I've grown super close to. In addition, I grew closer to a certain someone, who I couldn't get out of my head. Then this fall he asked me to be his girlfriend. I couldn't believe it; I got exactly what I wanted! This reassured me that declining my internship with Kleinfeld bridal, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I thought living in NYC would make the happiest person alive, but I can honestly say I am the happiest I've been. Though I'm not interning for Kleinfeld, I did get offered another internship at a different company. So I guess it all works out for the best!

As far as my 2015 resolutions go, I haven't been the most successful. I didn't try new things, improve my posture, stay organized, or improve my prayer life. In fact, I think my prayer life decreased. Last year, I made an effort to attend mass every weekend at college; however, this year, I haven't gone once....that just makes me sad an embarrassed. On a positive note though, I did attempt to "live in the moment" as well as photograph memories. I could still improve on these, so that is why, I'm making them my 2016 resolutions. I want to remember specific details of everyday occurrences. I've seen memory jars on pinterest and I kind of want to create one. I think it's an excellent idea. In conjunction, I want to start carrying around my camera everywhere I go. There are always times where I wish I had my camera with to capture cute and inspiring little things. Plus, I'll get more use out of my DLSR...which is a bonus!

I wish you all the best for this new year... Happy 2016!
