The Willis TowerTuesday, January 26, 2016
The last time I got to visit the Willis Tower in Chicago, I was in 8th grade. (Back then it was known as the Sears Tower, so it seems weird to refer to it as the Willis Tower.) Two weekend ago though, I had the pleasure to revisit it with my boyfriend and family. I had forgotten how long the wait line was. When I heard it was an hour and a half way, I was tempted to say forget it. Then I thought about how we drove all this way to see it, so we might as well wait it out! Not gonna lie, the time went by super slowly, but it was all worth it, when we stepped off that long elevator ride and saw the skyline all light up. It was breath taking to see all the skyscrapers lit up. It's a totally different experience than when I went in the daytime. The only thing that sucked was the fact that my camera doesn't do all that well at night. The flash is real harsh, and just makes everything look like shit. And the lens I brought with, didn't work quite so well with the environment either. Needless to say, the few pictures I did take weren't what I had in mind, but I kind of like this more artistic shot that I got. I also got to test out my camera on my new phone. Believe it or not, I've had the same blackberry for the longest time and just now upgraded to a smart phone....I know I'm behind the times! But now I have an instagram, so I would love if you would follow me on there (@katekoutures). I envy those with the "perfect" instagram feed and aesthetics.
Overall, I enjoyed showing my boyfriend around Chicago, and I'm hoping will go back in the summertime to Navy Pier or something.
