I'll Be Your Crying Shoulder

As a college student, you look forward to holidays more than ever; for once you'll be having REAL home cooked food instead of that garbage that is barely edible. So when my boyfriend invited me over to his parent's house for Easter, I was ecstatic. Not only was I going to be getting appetizing food, but we were going to get away from our boring college town.

We started our adventure to his house early Saturday afternoon. On the way, our conversation turned into a discussion about childhood snacks and goodies. I couldn't believe that he doesn't like gushers anymore!!! And then the subject of those little rainbow drinks that came in plastic containers with an aluminum top came about. We decided that since we haven't had one of those in years, we needed to go on the hunt for them. So when we got to his town, we stopped at a grocery store. He claims they used to sell them there, but the drinks were no where in sight! Instead, we settle for a Snapple.

Since it was Easter weekend, all of his friends were in town. They originally wanted to get together for a game of basketball, but they could not find an open gym. Instead, they made plans to play cards later that night.

To kill time, my agreed to take photos with me for a school project. I asked him where would be a cute spot in town, and he said there's a nearby lake. It was pretty small and looked ugly because of all the snow, but I spotted this bridge, and couldn't resist.
Even though it's spring time, it was still pretty chilly to be outside without jackets on. Needless to say, we both wanted to get these pictures done and over with. We tried to come up with different poses on the spot, since we were tired of the same old arm around the shoulder type of look. They didn't quite turn out the way I wanted them too. In my opinion they're alittle bit awkward, especially the one where we tried to dip; it looks weird with us holding hands....opps! It's hard to get the perfect picture when you're using a tripod and a shitter remote.

And here, I was afraid of falling in the water, since the ledge was so tiny, so we were lucky to get any shots whatsoever of that. Then we decided to call it quits since there was a really sketchy car watching us.

Easter was a pretty chill day. Three of my boyfriend's relatives made a stop for Easter lunch, so I got to meet them for the first time. We all devoured ham, cheesy potatoes, corn bread, fruit, and salad. I barely had room for dessert, but I couldn't resist bakery cookies and cake! To end our time at my boyfriend's house, he challenged me to a game of pingpong. I ended up losing :( No shocker there though!) We then headed back to the dreaded place of school! I had such a great time catching up with his family. It's been awhile since the last time I went over there, and it probably will be the last time before the end of the school year. Oh, and it was so sweet....his mom gave me a little Easter basket filled with yummy goodies!

  1. Girl, those pictures are not akward. They are adorable. At least you got him to take pics. I have been trying to get my honey to take pics with me and finding someone to take the pics for free is even harder. I actually really like them. The bridge is a beautiful back drop. I also one of my boyfriends relatives this weekend. I met my boyfriends dad for the first time on Easter Sunday. So we have that in common lol. Oh and who doesn't love gushers anymore? That's just crazy! Happy Hump Day ♥

    1. If you have a DSLR camera, then I would invest in a cheap tripod and shutter remote, so that you and your significant other can take photos together. That way you won't need anyone to take them for you. LOl I guess we do have a lot in common! And thank you so much for your sweet comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist! Hope you have a great weekend
