The Story Behind My Shoes #6

Thursday, March 17, 2016

These babies are the tallest heels in my collection. I went through a phase where I thought the taller the heel, the sexier the shoe. And in a way I still believe that. However, now I'm more drawn to heels that have a 4 inch heel rather than a 5 inch because to me, those seem super intimidating. When I bought these at Charlotte Russe freshman year of high school, my mom referred to them as hooker shoes. For the longest time, I didn't understand why. I thought they were incredibly chic and went with just about anything. I would wear them with jeans and a tshirt. I would wear them to homecoming. And I would wear them to weddings. I even wore them in Las Vegas, hoping the casino workers would think that I'm over 21.

But now I finally see what she's talking about. With the major platform and 5 inch heel paired with a super tight dress, it definitely does come across as a big slutty. I do still think these are stylish shoes, but the right outfit is needed to pull them off correctly. I find they look best a more conservative dress. I haven't worn them in the longest time (mostly because my prom shoes hold a special place in my heart) I'm excited to style them again and fall in love with them all over again.
