Goodbye Summer

Friday, September 16, 2016

When it's 90 degrees and humid, I just want summer to go away. At that point I'd rather be sitting by the fire, curled up in a blanket, and sipping on some hot chocolate...yum! But in all reality, whenever summer ends, there's a part of me that's sad. I'm forced to "say goodbye" to many awesome aspects of summer.

1. OPEN BACK TANK TOPS This summer, I've loved pairing bralettes with open-back shirts and crop tops. The pop of color just makes it so much fun and adds some much liveliness.

2. SUNDRESSES: No longer will I be able to wear those bright colored dress with a simple pair of sandals. Instead, I'll have to settle for wearing black tights ALL THE TIME!!

3. POPSICLES: By far the best summer treat. I rather have a grape Popsicle than a scoop of ice cream any day!...I know, call me weird.

4.THE BACHELOR IN PARADISE: Hands down, one of the greatest shows for the summer. Who doesn't want to watch lovers in Mexico and laugh at all the drama and arguments. Call me addicted!

5. THAT SUMMER TAN: Say hello to that ghostly white skin. Now that the weather is cooler, I'm no longer able to sit in my spa, mellow out, and get sun-kissed skin.

6. LAKE NIGHT WALKS: Basically heaven! Just relaxing, and taking in all the beauty of nature.

7. FRUIT: My yummy fruit salads will no longer be in season, so everything won't taste the same :( The biggest disappointment is watermelon.

8. BARBECUE FOOD: Going along with food, I'll surely miss those cookouts. A nice juicy barbecue bacon burger, buttery corn on the cob, potato salad......do I need to say more?

9. WHITE CONVERSE: Sure I can still rock them in the winter, but will I? Nope! My feet will be freezing, the fabric will get nasty yellow, and they probably won't go with any of my outfits.

10. SUNSHINE: An obvious one! The rainy days have already started. No more sunshine in the morning until 8 at night. Instead, cloudy, cool crisp days.... cant wait (sarcasm)

11. MOTIVATION: I don't know about you, but I feel the urge to get out of bed and get my day going on a bright summer day. In the cooler months though, I just want to snuggle in my bed ALL DAY! That laundry/ cleaning of my room can wait until the next day....and that's what I tell myself each day until I'm surrounded by mess.

So while everyone is having orgasms over pumpkin spiced lattes, and blanket scarves, I'm over here wanting summer to stay as long as possible!

Even though Summer is not my favorite season, Chicago feels like a new city during it, so I like to hold on to it as long as I can ;)
