Elks and Pines: Gamiss

Monday, January 16, 2017

Pines like these are my favorite during the winter. It reminds me of being all cuddled up by the fireplace, drinking hot coco in a log cabin while snow falls. Does that not just sound perfect!? I will say, I dread days when the weather is below 0, but I wouldn't say I hate winter. Sure I freeze my little tootsie off, but I can't picture what life would be like living in say California during the winter. I love the pretty picture that winter scenes paint. It's just....cozy! Plus then I couldn't wear all my cute layered clothing.

Houndstooth is one of my favorite prints. I normally go for more of a smaller houndstooth print, but I couldn't pass this cardigan up.  I love how it's short in the back and long in the front. It hangs so effortless. The sleeves are a bit long, so if you have short arms like me, you'll have to roll them up. I have several printed cardigans similar to this one and I love how easy it is to style them. For this look I threw on this super soft, long sleeve tee. By boyfriend even touched this shirt, and said "wow! it feels like butter". This tee is a steal for $10. Best of all, it has a big white bow in the back (you can't tell because of the sweater, but trust me it's cute). I absolutely love the baby pink color of the top.  This shade of pink is one of my favorites, but surprisingly, I don't own any clothing in it. I think the pink goes perfectly with the black and white.

There's a funny story behind this photo. My boyfriend and I were shooting some pics on a road with the trees in the background, when we heard a train whistle. We quickly hopped in his car to drive to these tracks. We didn't know if we would catch it in time, so I didn't even bother adjusting the settings on my camera. So this was pretty much the only decent photo (just ignore me being out of focus and my crazy hair). It's better than the other photos of me having crazy shadows on my face.

You can't really tell much in these pictures, but I've finally gotten a gold necklace. I tend to either go for the two necklaces my boyfriend got me or my pearls. I have a few statement necklaces, but find that I only wear them with certain outfits. I've definitely hopped on the pendant train. I don't own gold necklaces, so I wanted to add an inexpensive one to my collection.  For $2, you can't go wrong! I love how this necklace has the layered look (plus it has triangles so it's super trendy). I'm excited to get more use of it!
