Valentine's Cupid

This post is long overdue, but I wanted to shared with y'all what my Valentine's Day entailed. If you read what I posted on Valentine's Day, you would know that I was getting sick and so was my boyfriend. We didn't know if we would feel up to going out at night. Turns out that my boyfriend came down with the flu and I came down with just a nasty cold. So as you can imagine we didn't end up going out to eat and movie. Instead, we went to Walmart to get me soup and we stayed in for the night. We did exchange gifts though. Side note, that mug and teddy is what he got me last year. I still think they're adorable.
First off, my boyfriend is so cute. He actually bought a wedding gift bag that has a flower heart on it and tore off the congrats tag. He said he wanted the gift bag to be more unique than the typical red and pink bags. When I pulled out the Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume I was honestly in shock. I have always heard youtubers talk about this perfume and how amazing it was. I always admired it, especially for the flowered top. I've actually never owned a perfume before. I have endless Bath and Body Works mists, but never a big girl perfume. He honestly did such a good job. I even asked if he had help. His response was that he just looked at the descriptions and this one sounded the best. And he was right. I love the scent so much. I've been wearing it everyday since. Some days I think about changing it up because I want to savor it, but I always end up spraying it. To top it off he got me my favorite "luxurious" chocolates: Ferrero Roucher. He said he thought about getting me the 48 pack, but thought that might be too much chocolate. Instead he got me the 12 pack. At first I thought it was plenty, but now that there's 1 left, I wish I had the 48 pack lol. Oh and I almost forgot, he got me a pack of glazed donuts. He said he remembered me mentioning how I was craving donuts that week. How cute is he!?
So last weekend, we FINALLY got around to celebrating Vday. During the day, we went skiing for the first time. We both were hesitant on going. It looks challenging and we both feared of wiping out. To my surprise, we both learned quickly. Going down the hill, was thrilling. Might I add, that my boyfriend looked mighty sexy skiing. The only time we fell was getting on the ski lift. I couldn't get up for five minutes. It honesty is difficult to get back up once you're down. But I'm honestly so excited to go next year. Hopefully this year we'll go down the whole hill and not just 2/3.
After skiing, it was time for us to go home to get all dolled up for our date night. I wore my favorite velvet dress and my boyfriend sported a red dress shirt in honor of Valentine's Day. I honestly couldn't keep my eyes off of him. He kept the restaurant location a secret, but I had a feeling where it would be. When we pulled up to a restaurant at the Mississippi River, I knew I was right. It was somewhere that we both haven't been before, but have heard such great reviews about it. When we stepped foot in the restaurant, it was fancier than I had been expecting. A baby grand piano and fancy couches sat in the lobby....you heard me right a lobby in a restaurant. Just picture a candle lit dinner, 50 dollar steaks on the menu, fancy french words you can't understand, and a 3 hour wait to get a table without a reservation, and that's the kind of restaurant we went to. Thankfully we got a seat near the tavern so we didn't have to wait that long. It was the most intimate dinner I've ever had; just staring into each other's eyes, conversing, and having classy food. I would go back in a heart beat! It was well worth waiting for my Valentine's date. Oh and we ended the night by stopping by Olive Garden for dessert.....I was craving their zippolis. They're just as good as I remembered.

Doesn't it!?
DeleteSo cool you tried skiing...and amazing you picked it up so fast. I heard it was really difficult...that means you must be very fit!
ReplyDeleteLovely to know you enjoyed your VDay!
I'd like to think I'm fit, but in all reality I'm not.
DeleteAw, your boyfriend did good on selecting a perfume by himself. I actually like the fact that he chose it without help because a scent is very personal and the fact that he chose one that he felt would work for you and that he likes makes it all the more special! That said, I have the travel size of this perfume and love it! I also have two other of Marc Jacob's scents, Dot and Oh lola! and love them both as well, he knows how to do perfumes and the packaging is always cute! Thanks for sharing, babe, and I hope you're having a great day so far!
