Grecian Marine Blue

Can we just talk about that feeling of inspiration. It's something that we want to hold onto forever and capture in a jar so we can access it when needed. Probably the two things that give me that "wow, I'm loving life to the maximum" is music and photography. Sure I'm inspired when I go to some breathtaking nature spots, from a stunning fashion piece, a heartfelt note, or after a  fun date night, but these two things are in a category of its own. There are some days where I'm not in the mood to listen to music or I don't want to finish listening to a song because I've heard it a million times. Or there are days when my mellow, sweet love songs make me sad. I can't bear to listen to them anymore because I might shed some tears. But then there are days when I just want to blast music, smile, and just feel inspired. I LOVE those kind of moments. Sometimes I picture myself just dancing gracefully along to the music as if I actually know how to choreograph or dance for that matter. I'm happy to say, I'm having one of those moments right now. And there's nothing like this feeling!

The other inspiration aspect I spoke about was photography. Let me just say that I go through a love hate relationship with photography. Though I love feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin, it's the absolute worst for photos. I HATE having shadows, especially on my face. Then there's that ONE photo I fall in love with, but turns out to be slightly out of focus. It's all I can focus on (no pun intended). And sometimes the photos just don't turn on the way that I wanted them to. But there's nothing like reviewing your photos after a shoot and being like, "YES!!!". You just want to edit them right at the second and post them ASAP. They're everything you could want and more. This was the case for this photo shoot. The location I intended on going to was surrounded by water and required a little bit of walking, I then decided who in the world would want to do cardio in 90 degrees....not me! So, I'm glad I changed my mind at the last second. I'm in love with this old fashion looking building. Fun fact, I want my dream house to have pillars like these. For once, the majority of the pictures are not of the back of my outfit.....I swear that's my favorite pose lol. It's moments like these that it's hard to pick a favorite photo. And sometimes my "favorite photo" is one that I didn't intend on in being until I edited it. Speaking of photography, I'm thinking of investing in a full frame camera. Do any of you have experience with them, and do you find they're worth it?

What sparked this whole "inspiration talk", was after I watched HelloKaty Video on "I'm too heavy". She spoke about the fear of not being accepted because of being too emotional, too clingy, too happy, too shy, etc. I could relate to EVERYTHING she was saying. I'm guilty of thinking, am I bothering him/her TOO much? Is it TOO soon in our relationship to bring this up? Am I bringing this up TOO much? Am I TOO shy? We shouldn't have to put on a filter in the fear of people rolling their eyes at us. And Katy said it perfectly, if people don't accept you for who you are, then they're not worth your time. This is mentality that we should all live by. I didn't intend on getting "all deep" with you guys, but that video really spoke to me and got me inspired. In fact, pretty much all her videos inspire me. She's such a well spoken person and you can't help but have that awesome feeling of inspiration that you want to store in that jar after listening to her.

When people started wearing two pieces sets a couple of years ago, I thought what in the world are you wearing!? I immediately thought of those matching pieces you wear as a toddler.....you know the ones where that bright pink top matches those bright pink polka dotted legging like pants. (note, I will try my best to not dress my child in those unless it's a gift). Just like crop tops, bralettes, graphic tees, Adidas Superstars, and any trendy clothing, that two piece set magically grew on me.

I'm absolutely in love with this blue and white set. I honestly want to wear it everyday this summer. What attracted me to this set was obviously the print. I've seen this "porcelain" print everywhere. Part of me kind of feels like a teacup, but a stylish one lol. The other part of me feels Tumblr, if you know what I mean. I just feel so put together. My mom even loves the set. She could see it being worn in Greece next to all the architecture and I totally agree with her!

If I'm not feeling so daring, I could see myself wearing the pieces separately. The top would look incredibly cute with just a basic pair of denim shorts or even colored ones. And a coral top would go perfectly with the porcelain shorts.

Like I said, this set is incredibly comfortable. It's made out of polyester so it can be worn to more fancier occasions as opposed to a set made out of cotton.....which is why I love polyester!

The shorts even have pockets which is a win win for me!

I paired the  short set with just a basic pair of brown sandals to keep the focus on the two piece set. You could very well wear some sneakers with though!

  9. Oh the behind the scenes of blogging! I know the struggle all too well. Sometime photo shoots don't go according to plan. Other time you just surprise yourself! We got a full frame camera last year and the results are noticeable. I would say you need to be at the place in your blog where the investment is really worth while, because it is very expensive. I think you are there :) My London Calling post on my blog is all with a full frame camera.

This shorts top combo is super pretty - very Grecian chic.
Hope you have a great week ahead Kate :)
