Firework Kisses

Hope you all are dressed in a cute red, white, and blue outfit celebrating the 4th either at a barbeque or a fireworks display. I for one am just enjoying my day off from work. It's nice to be able to sleep in and catch up on my blog. I did however had the most amazing weekend that I wanted to share with y'all. It started on Friday when I got off early from work and rushed home. Why did I rush home you may ask? It's because my boyfriend was coming for the weekend. It wasn't just any old visit though; this visit was the first time seeing him in 2 months. I have never been away from him that long. Pretty sure in the past we've only been apart for 1 month. As you can imagine, I was waiting for him to walk through the door the entire day. I had butterflies the entire day; it honestly was like our first date. Even when he held my hand, I had butterflies. As much as I hate being away from him, when we're reunited it's the BEST feeling in the world!

Friday evening, we went to the driving range. I was so happy when he told me I have improved so much from my first time swinging a club. It's been a long way coming. He even gave me a teaching session the next day. I cannot wait until the day we have our first day on an actual course. Oh and I almost forgot, we ended Friday night by seeing 42 Meters Below. Honestly, I was expecting more out of the movie. I can't complain though because the popcorn was awesome!

Bright and early Saturday, we went paddle boating at the beach. Last year we went kayaking, so we decided to switch it up. Because you're pedaling so much, I was expecting to get tired and soar. That however was not the case! We honestly went further on that boat then we did with the kayak. We still enjoyed our time on the peaceful water though. There's nothing like beautiful nature. And of course we had to splash each other. We were definitely tempted to jump all the way in!

Later that evening, I got all dressed up so he could take pictures of me in a new dress (blog post coming soon). I was honestly blown away by the photos! Since we're big steak fans, we went to a fancy char-house. I swear, I get amused by the smallest details; I was impressed by the big, round booth. It honestly was so romantic and of course the food was delicious. Afterwards, we went on a couple different walks. The first was downtown in my city. For some reason I thought it was the cutest thing holding hands and walking down the sidewalks. Then as it got closer to sunset, we walked around a calm, expensive neighborhood. Honestly, I love doing simple things like this.

Sunday was another jammed packed day. After we took these photos, we were sweating. I talked my boyfriend into going swimming at the beach. We of course had to buy him a swimsuit though because he didn't bring one. The water was FREEZING but after moving around for 5ish minutes, I was used to the temperature. Just our luck though, the whistle got blown for everyone to get out of the water because of the spotting of lighting. We had things to do, so we couldn't stick around to wait it out. Oh well, I guess 10 minutes was enough fun for us.... (not really)

Since we both we craving Buffalo Wild Wings, we stopped there for dinner. The waitress actually dropped our food on the table as she was serving us. Other than that, it was a pleasant meal! And finally we got to do what I was waiting all year for: the 4th of July festival. I've gone there a couple of times but always wanted to have that magical Ferris wheel kiss. It definitely was everything I was anticipating other than the fact that he was trying to scare me by rocking the cart back and forth. It freaked me out and only made me cuddle closer to him.

After we went on a few rides and the sun went down, we lied our blanket (aka beach towel) down on the sand to watch the fireworks. We had the goods too: cotton candy and a snow cone. I've never actually been to a fireworks show; I've only watched it them from my kitchen window. So as you can imagine, I was amazed by the grandness of being upclose to them. Let me just say there's something so  special of sitting cross legged on the ground,  your boyfriend's arm wrapped around you, kissing and saying I love you, while the fireworks go off in the background. If I could stay in that moment forever I would. As you can imagine, we went on many adventures this weekend, but this was by far my favorite moment.
Sadly, he had to go home early Monday morning. For once, I didn't ball my eyes out when he left. It could've been because it was too early to really comprehend it or it might be because I'm still holding onto the amazing memories from this weekend. Ugh, I can't wait to see that boy again!
