Thinking Out Loud

Finding a dress for this wedding was by far the biggest struggle. I normally don't have this problem. Sometimes it takes me a while to find "the perfect" dress, however nothing compares to this experience. I've had my eye on this certain dress since high school. It's classic in the front with pleats, and in the back it's darling with an open back and a giant bow. I decided to break down and buy it. Since it's from an Australian boutique, I was always hesitant how it would fit. Dresses always tend to be big on me since I'm so petite. I was willing to take the risk though because it seemed like the perfect dress to go with my boyfriend's gingham shirt. When it came in the mail I instantly knew it wouldn't fit; it looked tiny. When I tried it on, I wasn't surprised at all. The dress was so tight that it was pushing my boobs together to form cleavage....I wasn't even wearing a bra lol. As much as I wanted to wear the darling dress (because the photos would just be perfect) I couldn't see myself being in it all day. So, I was on the mission to find another dress.

I went back to my trusty old computer to online shop (because that worked out so well last time...not). I had my heart set on another backless dress. There were a couple that I was considering, but I ended up choosing a classic navy lace, backless dress from Lulus. When the dress came in the mail, and I tried it on, I was disappointed. I fit, but it did nothing for my body. The dress is still sitting in my bedroom needing to be shipped back.

Long story short, I went to countless stores the week before the wedding. I found dresses, but they were all printed. So I had to keep looking because they wouldn't go with my boyfriend's gingham shirt. Finally, I found this $9 pink dress from Kohl's. It wasn't anything I imagined wearing, but I was desperate, and the price was right. Looking back, it's not the most flattering color for my hair color, and my hot pink bra DEFINITELY did not match. I kept telling my boyfriend that I felt like a hooker. I was wearing humongous lashes, a bustier dress, and a hot pink bra. I got fed up the lashes so I ripped them off. And it was freezing for an August wedding so I ended up wearing my boyfriend's sweatshirt...that took care of the hot pink bra lol.

It was raining on and off that day so the whole time I was worried about my hair frizzing.....I know typical girl problems. Once we got pictures done, I didn't care as much. It was a pretty laid back wedding. We played bean bag toss, ate some brats, watched fireworks, drank beer, and just danced. There were also some deep conversations that just made my heart happy.

Probably my all time favorite moment though was dancing to "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. I requested the song and was waiting and waiting until the dj played it. When It came on though, I was ecstatic. We had the the entire dancefloor to ourselves, so it was like we were in our own little world. There was lots of spinning, dipping and kissing. I couldn't ask for a better way to end our night.
