Last week was my boyfriend's birthday. Fun fact, this was my first time actually celebrating his birthday. We've been together for almost 3 years, but I've never been with him to celebrate the special day. I know, what you're thinking...WHAT!? We lived 3.5 hours apart during the summer, and were busy with our jobs/internships. Plus college always started 2 weeks after his birthday, so it made more sense for us to just celebrate it when we saw each other at school. So you better believe that I went all out for his birthday.

I snuck a card, rock candy, and some caramel corn in his lunch box. Stupid me forgot that he only likes cheddar popcorn, not caramel corn. Opps! More for me lol! I'm actually eating it right now, and I'm a little disappointed. They weren't kidding when they said it's sea salt caramel corn...it's definitely salty.

We both had to work our normal hours. I planned to leave around 4pm, so I would be home earlier than normal. Let's just say that didn't work out. Oh well! At least I still had enough time to stop at Cheesecake Factory to pick us each up a slice of cheesecake. I got him plain, and chose Tiramisu for myself (which btw, I don't recommend. There wasn't enough flavor for me).

Once I got home, I took him out for a dinner at a fancy steakhouse. If we're ever eating out (which is practically every Saturday), then it's most likely a steak restaurant or bbq wings. I think it's safe to say that it's a problem of ours. Anyways, I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. The lights were super dim, the booths have that leather couch feel, and everything about the ambiance was sexy. We were both a little disappointed that we weren't able to get seated on the rooftops. That was honestly the only reason I choose to dine there. Like I said though, the inside was gorgeous, so it wasn't a total bust.

After dinner, we came back for our cheesecake dessert and to open presents. My boyfriend was requesting a new pair of khaki shorts for his birthday. To his surprise, I got him three pairs. Two pairs of khaki and one pair of preppy grey shorts (more my style than his, but oh well!). His final gift was a spikeball set. I honestly didn't have time to wrap it, so I threw a blanket over it. Shout out to my mom who gave me that idea. He was totally surprised by the gift. We actually it this weekend. Let me tell you, it takes a lot of effort to get that net set up correctly. If there isn't enough tension, the game will just be a total fail. We learned that the hard way.

All in all, his birthday was a total success. He is such a sweetheart and kept telling me how much I was spoiling him. I didn't think so, but maybe I was. Now here's to planning an equally as epic anniversary. It's less than one month away....Wish me luck!

Lately, I'm definitely digging the sort of vintage look, especially vertical stripes like this romper! It's a little bit big on me, but that's what makes it super comfy. I paired it with a bralette from Free People. I know...call me basic! The romper dips a little bit low, but I love that it shows off the bralette. I don't have the world's biggest chest, so it's not the most flattering. But like I said, I'm going for the comfy look. The romper is from Zaful.
