"That Feeling When You're Not Necessarily Sad, But You Just Feel Really Empty" |
So I finally took on the famous tumblr task of the melted crayon art. It honestly is not that hard and is a pretty cheap diy. And I might say so myself, it turned out pretty well for my first attempt. If by chance you haven’t heard of this diy, then follow these simple directions.
- First start off by writing a quote or word at the bottom of the canvas. Then either paint it black or use sharpie. (I opted for the sharpie)
- Hot glue your crayons to the top of a canvas in rainbow order. (it may help to take off the wrappers of the crayons, but it’s not necessary)
- The traditional way to melt the crayons is to plug in a blowdryer and heat up the crayons until they melt. I however used a lighter to speed up the process. It worked well except for the fact that I burned a small hole in the canvas...but it adds a little bit of character so I don’t mind.
Voila! Hang up your finished masterpiece!
